Life Changing!

Through Roberts experiences in life his books have made a huge impact in my life! I am one that doesn't enjoy reading much yet, I find my eyes glued to his every word. His idea of paying yourself first and creating a surplus budget is brilliant! Although I make little money, I hired a bookkeeper and she is transferring 50% of my weekly check into another account for my investments. Now I push myself to financial IQ #1 "Make money" by marketing a small but cleverly unique chocolate covered strawberry company which caters to any event, occasion, and holidays from a personal order as a gift to company events, weddings, etc... I also market a trendy clothing line called Fly Handsome. Thanks Robert, you have definitely changed my life!

Doesn't increase your IQ

As I read the book (as well as some of his other books) I wondered if Kiyosaki would ever get to the point of the subject in his verbose and repetitive dissertation on how to get rich. If you a newbie to the world of investing, then this book might be for you. But if you are like most of us that have already done some investing (stocks, realestate, etc), or have looked into it then you are left feeling dissatisfied. It's like you were told by a coach to play well and follow the fundamentals, but the coach never really got in there and showed you how to properly play the game. Kiyosaki seems to hide behind the "I can't tell what to do because rich dad said you have to learn on your own" or "you have to increase your financial IQ first". Well, duh, that's why we are reading the book in the first place, but he never seems to get to the real meat of what we really need, some real world detailed examples on how to go about investing in successful ventures. I think that the only person getting rich off this book is Koyisaki. It seems that if you want to get more information of many of the financial subjects he mentions, you have to buy another one of his books, financial games, or pay to contact one of his rich consultants buddies for advice. All in all I have to say that for a newbie, the book does seem to give you some advice that may point you in the general direction to start investing, but certainly not enough to put into action. If you are like me and are tired of all the empty preaching on how to get rich, then look elsewhere for advise.

FINALLY - A great book about real BD!

This book is about business development - not sales. Far too many people confuse the two. As the author explains early in the book, "BD is the polar opposite of sales." If you want to learn how to become a better salesperson, how to close that big account, how to increase your commission check, etc., then go read Strategic Selling or Spin Selling or one of the ridiculous number of books on sales. But if you want to learn how to create and develop deep strategic partnerships that can utterly transform your company, then you need to read the Sumo Advantage.

As an early-stage entrepreneur, I've struggled personally with how to build initial momentum and credibility in the marketplace. How do you break into costly and competitive marketing channels when you have no scale? How do you get customers to buy from a company they've never heard of? Why should anyone pay attention to you?

In the Sumo Advantage, Brenner explains that one highly effective approach is to establish partnerships with big companies that have already solved those problems. Fortune 1000 companies are already in those marketing channels and already have relationships with all the customers you are trying to reach. So instead of trying to brute-force your way into a market where you're woefully out-manned, you can co-opt the strengths of those bigger businesses and make them yours.

Importantly, though, this only works if you bring equal value to the Fortune 1000 company. Brenner explains in detail how to identify potential partners, sell them on your strategic vision, negotiate the deal, and - most importantly - nourish and develop the relationship over time, so that it becomes a powerful contributor to your business.

If you're an entrepreneur, you owe it to yourself to read this book. It's quick, compelling, and immediately actionable - and it will make you think about your business strategy in an entirely new light.

Updating a midstream review, still so good at 100%!

Initially I wrote: ...truth be told I'm at 34% according to my kindle and I'm in for a long, very long, night. I knew there was a good reason I waited till this was published. No way I'd have the patience to read this serialized. And though the styles do vary ever so slightly between sections, only because I'm looking for it, the story flows, making the differentiation a bit of a game. So good that I chose to stop here and write a midstream review. I'll be back...

Update: I adore full length novels. Original characters populate this collaborative story along with all the usual players but the story gives us a wonderful "insider" perspective on our favorite reticent, romantic hero. Though ultimately, this is a story about brothers, the romance and adventure is ever present, elaborated, and explored. The plot follows canon to a point but with several creative twists. And (vague spoiler) if you believe Wickham got off easy in the original, you will be satisfied here.

There are a few sections that could have benefited from a group conference, but understanding the nature of this project, that's to be expected. And there are plotlines that could be continued, so if any of the five authors feel the inclination, please write on!

All in all, even ignoring the current flood of abbreviated JAFF offerings, this book will stand, in style and substance, above most the rest. I thank these talented authors for this worthy entertainment.

Another excellent twist to Jane Austen's classic!

Theophilus?? Fitzwilliam Darcy's brother is named Theophilus?? That is just the first of many surprises in this great version of Jane Austen's classic. With a cadre of superior writers working in tandem, the tone and pace of this story is masterful. I doubt any Janeite could set this novel aside after reading just a couple chapters - it calls to you!

Without my giving away any of the story, you can count on these writers to wend their way along a story path following numerous twists and turns that twist and turn your emotions at the same time! There is angst - every story requires its share of emotion rending situations. But, do not be heavily concerned, all will be well - eventually!

My kindle says this story takes over seven hours to read. For me that has been seven plus hours of pure enjoyment! I would suggest you block out time in your schedule and with your favorite beverage and snack simply relax and enjoy reading how Theo manages to..... Ahh, but that would be telling! Enjoy reading this story for yourself!

I loved this incredibly well written book, the characters and the storyline were perfect. I agree with the other reviewers, block out your time, put your head down and immerse yourself in this fabulous story. I have to say I fell over this book in the Amazon recommendations which surprised me as I throughly search "daily" for any pride and prejudice variations buying both the great and the awful. This book did not at any time show up on my searches, so if I found this hard to locate maybe others are having the same trouble. In saying that, "Thank God" I eventually did, and can only add that old saying, do yourself a favor. Please I beg you, a story on Theo would be appreciated.
