No Fluff Shop Math Book

If you want a meat and potatoes book on Shop Math this is it. Although there are only answers for odd numbered questions, it is a self teaching book that anyone can use. It assumes no math knowledge and starts with arthmetic to algebra, geometry, trigonometry. Every math problem is a shop problem. I went through college math and calculus, etc. and it does not apply to practical shop problems for the most part. This book skips that. It also has ruler scale reading,calipers, micrometers and angle plates and sine bar calculations with gear proportions for mill belt and gear ratios. It has speed and feed calculations and most of all has tables in the back of the book for conversions, charts, threads, etc. Im most cases you can skip right to the shop problem you need to do. It also has allowances and tolerances too. Basic but essential and to the point. A no Fluff book. Good for home machinists and shop machinists who are skilled but not math savvy. A good trade school shop primer. In abour one week of reading the whole book, you can be up to speed. A handy shop reference too with many easy to see diagrams and explanations in plain english.

Good tool and reference for Shop Math

Good basic shop math. PROs - practical exercises and relatively easy to follow. Cons - only odd numbered problems have answers. This can be frustrating. Would I buy it again? Maybe, but I would shop around first.
